A fetch is not a confirmation. Map layout places counties in their real west-to-east positions so a weather system is visible as it moves. Even grid makes every box symmetrical, grouped by zone, and gives up the geography. The seven zones group counties that go wet at roughly the same time, so the most-restrictive roll-up means something.
